Problem

Eighteen postcards grouped around the name Fritz Lehmann are held in the Historical Cryptology Portal. Their message fields contain period-separated numbers, sometimes broken by ordinary handwriting. Catalogue association alone does not establish a single sender; the fields, signatures, dates, and addresses must be considered object by object.

The packet includes HCP913, 978–979, 1041–1051, 1059–1060, 1113, and 1134. Dated messages in the documented set extend through 1908–1911; some individual dates are unknown. One field has five extremely pale longhand lines beneath a number block. Other cards preserve corrections, overbars, or numbers crossing physical line breaks.

The recorded source fields and their limits are given below. The original records are listed here. Can the private passages be read without silently improving their spelling or treating the catalogue grouping as proof of one correspondence?

Recorded source transcriptions

Five objects have complete physical numeric extents that can be reproduced from the saved source ledgers. Uncertain numerals stay bracketed; ordinary prose is identified separately. For the other fields, the original object is needed to inspect the writing.
