Two postcards posted at Tottenham on 2 and 12 August 1907 are addressed to Mr. G. Groves, 90 Westbourne Road, Barnsbury, N. HCPortal preserves them as items 1433 and 1432. One pictures Northborough Church, the other Virginia Water Falls.
The same ornate address hand and dark ink recur. Both message fields are upside down relative to the address and alternate ordinary English with groups of short and long marks. Diagonal slashes appear within those groups, while larger spaces divide them. The open signatures are L. M.- and probably Louie; the latter’s final letters are pale.
The rendering below supplies both private fields and the surrounding open prose. It uses the source edition’s block grouping rather than claiming exact physical wraps. Bracketed lower-case words remain uncertain where crossing handwriting, printing, and an overlay obscure the source. What do the marked passages contribute to the notes?
Source rendering. Line breaks follow the evidence record; square brackets mark uncertainty.
