A portrait postcard captioned Mr. George Alexander carries a message in black marks and an additional upper-margin line in purple. The readable address begins Miss Peggy Lewis; the remaining address is too uncertain to print as a settled destination. On the picture side, ordinary writing says Kind Regards / Sallie.
The portal dates the card to 11 September 1904, consistent with the visible 11 SP 04 cancellation. A group in the black message has been visibly canceled. In the rendering below, a short slanted or bent stroke is shown as a period, a tall stroke as a hyphen, and a separate round mark as a vertical bar. Spaces retain the smaller group gaps. What do the two colored passages say?
