A postcard addressed to Miss Nicholls at 41 Welbeck Street, Cavendish Square, London W., is filled with thirteen lines of numbers. An ordinary time appears among them. The writer dated the card 11/11/04 9.15 pm, and the cancellation shows 10 a.m. on 12 November 1904.
The picture is captioned Dartford Heath. That caption does not locate the post office: the locality arc of the cancellation is too faint to fix. The recipient’s first name is obscured. The numeric rows below retain the source’s dots, dashes, and line breaks, including its ordinary time. What does the note say?
